The Event Solutions Idea Factory was amazing again this year! Got to mingle with Preston Bailey, Marci Blum and David Tutera and met lots of amazing, creative people all over the country. We come back ready to create with tons of new ideas and we bought some more fabulous vases and things to play with. I am most excited about our 8’ tall twinkle light trees!

Uncommon Events floral décor was gorgeous at the Elkins Estate on labor day weekend. Beautiful pedestal urns for the ceremony, White hydrangea clusters with big tulle bows. The dinner tables were dressed  in ivory linens and the flowers were a color palette of light pinks, peach, ivory and white. Enjoy the eye candy!

Uncommon Events provided the planning and décor for an incredible bat mitzvah. The party was held at the Waterford Ballroom. The kids started their night in the Ice Lounge and moved on to “meet the parents” in the Ballroom for a fabulous evening of dancing and warm fuzzys. The entire evening was over the top. Cinema Cake (the mitzvah parents!) created a rap video with the mitzvah girl and her friends. One word…. Incredible. They also created a video candle lighting that was perfection.

The cast of professional characters were:
Uncommon Events –planning, design and décor
Cinema Cake  – the proud parents and Cinematographers
Eventions Productions
Creative Juice
Signature DJ’s
Jelly Roll Band
Sarah DiCicco Photography
Radisson Valley Forge –Waterford Ballroom

This past month, Uncommon Events showcased our newest purchases from our NYC and San Fransisco buying trips. We invited all of our clients and preferred vendors for a night of fun. Of course, Uncommon Taste provided the incredible food and libations. We created several looks to appeal to the wide variety of our customers needs. The modern look, classic romantic style, country wedding and simple elegance. Each of these styles starts with the proper container be it silver, glass, tin or ceremic and ends with the perfect flowers, candles and lighting.

Party rental, Eventions, Janice Martin Couture, Photos by Todd, Images by Ian, Cinemacake and American Furniture rental all helped make the evening a success.

I had the pleasure of visiting the San Francisco flower mart adding some new inventory for our events this upcoming season. It was a rainy day but very sunny inside. Tons of stunning fresh flowers, blooming branches, orchids and incredible hard goods. I can’t wait to showcase our new purchases! The most interesting purchase was a runner made of thin slices of a tree fungus – beautiful colors and perfect for a very natural look with lots of moss, natural containers and wild flowers. We will be showing this look at our floral showcase next week.

It was such  a breath of fresh air – a room full of gorgeous orange and pink flowers after the winter we have had. Our grower even called to thank us for the order –it made her happy! The Orange ball was held on Saturday, March 13 at the Bellevue. 500 guests were in attendance all dressed in their finest. We provided the décor for the 50 tables as well as orange chairs and hot pink cushions. The look was fun yet elegant. A playful feel to help create the mood for the party.

Creating two tables for an intimate dinner party in Lincoln Hall at the Union League is no small task but we met the challenge! Glaxo Smith Kline hosted a retirement party for 34 guests and was looking to WOW the group to show their appreciation of the Retiree’s years of contributions.  An abundance of all white flowers provided a lush and elegant feel to the table. Lots of candle light provided a warm glow to the tables. We added overhead amber lighting to complete the look. The large pedestal arrangements created the intimate feel to the very large space.  We love working at the Union League having done many weddings and corporate events there.
