A hidden gem and available for non-member weddings, Green Valley Country Club  is an incredibly special place. I was honored to have my company assist with a luncheon for the elite wedding planners of the Philadelphia area. Sarah Marquis, Catering Director (and one of the nicest people on earth) along with General Manager Harry Ginther  (he is really wonderful too!) arranged for a meal like no other for the guests. We dined on tempura crab, roasted tomato soup, sushi and other incredible yummies. There was even a small scallop plate with bacon foam (how do they “foam” bacon?!). It was all incredibly delicious and the service staff was attentive with a smile. Uncommon Events provided some simple décor of yellow roses and bright green linens to brighten up what was a bit of a dreary day. Yellow roses en mass can be so bright and cheery!

Sherry Paskin, owner of Sweet Surprises, is a gem of a find. Look at the pictures of these most amazing chocolates that she makes. Other than being beautiful, they are delicious! We did an event together where she did chocolate menus. Really creative, totally dependable and a really nice person to boot. You may reach her;

I love lily of the valley! This bridal bouquet is gorgeous and fit the season. Full of white peonies, garden roses and a touch of lily of the valley. The rest of the flowers were all shades of yellow. More pictures to come in a later post…..Images by Alyssa Malouf

So, I thought that all of these chair covers were awesome. Some are just meant for a wedding, some for a mitzvah.

The one tablecloth with the flower appliqués is stunning. I went to the vendor in California to see it again and up close. So gorgeous,  I am using it for a garden party at the end of May.

To add to our collection…

We are doing lots of work in places like the Lake House, ACE Conference Center, Audubon ; venues that lend themselves to heavier pieces, wood and wrought iron. I have purchased these stunning pieces to add to our offerings to those clients looking for that heavier look and feel.

I LOVE the tall hurricanes with a huge candle or a big bunch of flowers, perfect for a ceremony or flanking an escort card table.

The smaller wrought iron vases have multiple uses with candles or flowers. The tall decorative vase has a brown/gold patina with the floral accent. I bought this specifically for events at ACE but it will debut at several venues. These pieces mixed with wooden features, moss and garden type flowers will be just gorgeous.

 Dear Melissa,

couldn’t wait to tell you how incredible everything was.  The flowers were beyond what I ever imagined…when we spoke the other week I was trying to find some way to express the fact that I was doubting doing one round arrangement on each table that all looked the same.  You must have caught my drift because what you did was exactly what I didn’t know how to describe.  They were gorgeous, unique, interesting, and just breathtaking.  I loved the assortment, loved the types of flowers that were used, and loved the creativity.

The kids tables were a huge hit!  The balloons were incredible and you were so right about the grass – I just loved it all!  The kids loved the pillows and we all loved how you were able to incorporate Aaron’s Hairdoguys into the room.

Melissa, I can’t thank you enough for making this day so wonderful.  It was such a pleasure working with you and the final result was above and beyond what I imagined.   Aaron was so thrilled and everyone in that room commented on how incredible it looked.

Thank you again!!
