We have so much to look forward to as this amazing year comes to a close! Late last week, I had the chance to sit down with Ivy from Lovely Bride and Julia from Commonwealth Proper to look over gowns, dresses, tuxedos, and suits that will be featured in February’s #LoveIsInTheAir2015 at The Horticulture Center, Fairmount Park, Philadelphia PA. We looked through amazing styles that ranged from casual to formal and that would suit (pun intended) each season!

Here are a couple of New Year’s Eve inspired outfits that we loved from Lovely Bride’s Instagram!

The Pantone color of 2015 is marsala and there is a lot of back & forth over whether you love it or hate it. Either way this earthy, rusty red is 2015’s color. Here are some items below that I found on the net featuring the most loved/hated color of the upcoming season! Make it work  🙂

We got the call 14 months before the wedding date. One visit to the house and I knew this was going to be a HUGE project. 300 guests at home, in a tent wedding ceremony around the pool. The beautiful bride had a vision in her head and what we produced was perfection. She wanted all white, a touch of wood, an accent of green and a bit of glam with crystal chandeliers. The farmhouse tables were set with a glamorous silver charger that added the perfect touch of elegance. The green water goblet married (pun intended!) well with the touch of green in the hypericum and leaves in the floral arrangements for a pop of color. Cocktails on the lawn and around the pool, a fabulous seated dinner followed by wonderful desserts and a candy bar. The grand finale was the sparkler sendoff!

We were incredibly lucky to have a beautiful day!

Street Art is Alive in London!

I love to  travel and immerse myself in new and different cultures. These experiences inevitably show up in our event design, one way or another. Bits and pieces of what I find interesting will make their way into our  “art of the party”.

When in London, I went on a tour in the Shoreditch neighborhood. Street Art is a part of their community. Street Art was started by Banksy in the early part of this century. Today, there are many artists who follow in his footsteps, creating beautiful, visuals in the most unexpected, industrial places. Keep your eyes open, you may find Street Art in your area!

I love this artist and just saw another of his artwork in Ghent, Belgium

This was our tour guide, a Street Artist herself.

The last one I saw and a favorite of course!

When planning a wedding or special celebration with a group in London, a Double Decker Bus tour is a must. It is a fast and convenient way to orient your guests to the beautiful city of London. We added Champagne and Mimosas to our morning adventure. Two Blue Badge Guides added the story behind all of the sites.

CAKE!

I am always seeking the most amazing wedding cake and the pastry chefs who can create them. The ability to make an amazing looking cake that tastes delicious is an art. There are few that can manage that task.

As I travel abroad, I always snap images from windows. I like how the images portray the cake with the ghosted images of the surrounding buildings. These cakes were in a shop window in London.

The last cake belonged to a birthday girl (client). I commissioned Rachel Mount to create a “London” cake. It was simply stunning.
