What better way to celebrate the change of season than with a spring break vacation or an exotic venture? Luckily for the design team at Uncommon Events, our spring travels came early this year with an event planning trip to Islamorada in the Florida Keys! We spent a long weekend in paradise, creating and executing four days of events for an extremely special client.
The weekend began on Thursday night with a welcome dinner! Centerpieces were vibrant with exotic floral arrangements that looked beautiful against the stark white sand. We used mismatched brightly painted chairs to add just the right amount of color!
Tis the season to head outdoors, especially when planning an event or wedding! Luckily, for those of you who like to choose the path less traveled, non-traditional options are gaining popularity and more and more events are embracing the outdoors with “Glamping”!
“Glamping” or glamorous camping is the term used for the latest outdoorsy spin on camping and so many event planners and brides are jumping on the bandwagon. Glamping is not only for the outdoorsy type! Actor Matthew McConaughey tied the knot a few years back on his Texas ranch with a glamping style celebration!
This super trendy option allows guests to experience the pleasures of camping with the conveniences of a five star hotel. Your guests can relax and enjoy themselves in comfort, while experiencing all of the beauty of their natural surroundings.
Glamping usually requires guests to commit to a longer stay and allows for a multi-day celebration. We love the idea of spending more time together and extending your special day!
Companies like Outdoorsgeek will provide set-up and break down of each event. They also provide beds, fresh linens, and a dresser for clothes. These glamping spaces are created for temporary living with showers and bathrooms. Guests can choose to cook inside in case of bad weather! Tent service under the stars anyone?
Take a peek at one of the most amazing ‘glamping’ style events that we planned for a 70th Birthday celebration in Sedona, Arizona.
A homage to the ultimate in artistic expression #LoveIsInTheAir2015, Philadelphia’s bridal event of the year, at the Philadelphia Horticulture Center—was truly a night to remember from beginning to regrettable ending! Surprise waited around every bend as guests meandered through the incredible event.
The entire evening represented the most state of the art design concepts. Take a look at this amazing short film created by Cinemacake Filmmakers that highlights the entire evening from start to finish!
The rhythm and bump of limousines greeted guests outside of the venue entrance as they arrived. Cocktail hour took place in the display garden as Stephen STARR Events served hors d’oeuvres and the Philadelphia String Quartet entertained guests.
As cocktail hour came to a close, guests were invited into the much-anticipated Lovely Bride and Commonwealth Proper fashion show! With Big Ric of Bic Ric Rising as the MC, there was no better way to end the fashion show than with a dance party!
Say goodbye to trolleys and time minimums, Uber has stepped onto the wedding transportation scene! For those of you who are not familiar, Uber is an American company that is headquartered in California and operating in over 50 countries and more than 200 cities around the world. Uber is so simple and provides the most stylish rides without breaking the bank!
For brides and event planners Uber Weddings is a must see and is a fabulous way to stick to budget. The majority of wedding day transportation options charge by the hour, with rates that range from $40 to $100 an hour. Uber’s VIP Wedding Package includes a personalized promo code that gives guests $20 off their ride and a VIP experience for the bride and groom!
Uber will even personalize your custom code and print for you so that that it can be displayed for your guests throughout the evening. Reservations cannot be made in advance so Uber is not recommended to get guests to the altar, but is so perfect for wedding festivities that do not have a constricted timeline.
We love Uber and we’re thrilled to see this trend driving into the wedding world!
Jessica Mader, our Creative Director has mastered creating these incredible designs. Take a look at some of these beautiful pieces we made last week for #LoveIsInTheAir2015.
We are really looking forward to presenting “Goodness Gracious Great Balls of Flowers”. Check back next week to find out about our “Vegas Vacation”, because not everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!
We are big fans of the Philadelphia Flower Show that takes place each year at the Pennsylvania Convention Center! We especially love their bridal event Wedding Wednesday, that highlights the best vendors of the Philadelphia wedding industry. Attendees can expect the Hollywood treatment, with hair and makeup trials, photo booths, and samples from Philadelphia’s most prestigious venues and caterers. Guests will also be invited to a real, fairytale-like wedding ceremony that will take place the evening of the show!
As a nod to the 2015 Philadelphia Flower Show theme “Celebrate the Movies”, our Creative Director, Jessica Mader created a Casablanca themed film table at #LoveIsInTheAir2015.
Thank you MK Photography for capturing these great photos of the Casablanca table!
This year Uncommon Events will be showcasing a new floral design inspired by Simon Lycett, of London Fame, at Wedding Wednesday. This is a must see for brides and their bridal parties and we are looking forward to seeing what every vendor brings to the table. Check out our flower show designs in person on March 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. All tickets purchased include admission to the Flower Show and a swag bag from Philadelphia Wedding magazine.
