Inspiration for a Baby Celebration!

Happy Spring, we are thrilled that the weather has broken and that we can finally bask in all of the season’s glory. Springtime with its new buds, full blossoms, and fresh offspring is the perfect season to celebrate and honor Mothers Day and the little gifts that they bring into the world!

As this sweet holiday quickly approaches we are sharing some of our favorite baby centered events that we have planned and designed over the last few years.

In January 2015, our wedding planning and design team flew down to the Florida Keys to manage and design a beachside christening for a wonderful family! The christening took place along the shore and was followed by a flawless seated luncheon. The luncheon was held on a private beach and guests were greeted with bottles of sand that displayed their names. Escort cards not enough? We used ghost chairs as seating with decals that displayed each guest’s name! For the ceremony and luncheon we used sweet, dainty florals with hints of white as a nod to the baby girl.

Unplugged Weddings

As social media applications have become increasingly popular over the last several years, we were not surprised to see the personalized hash tag trend spread so quickly from wedding to wedding! We are big advocates of staying connected and we love being able to share our moments with our followers, but where do we draw the line?

These days it seems that even our eldest aunt’s and uncles are plugged in. With cell phone usage at an all time high, we are seeing more and more couples asking guests to refrain from using their phones, especially during their wedding ceremony.

For most professional photographers, an unplugged wedding would be music to their ears! So many guests end up ruining professional photos by accidentally being in the background (or foreground) or sending a bright flash from the wrong direction. Let’s not forget about the #selfie! Each guests wants their moment with the bride and groom. Eliminating these small photo opt moments will allow you and your guests to enjoy more time together without a phone in front of your face.

Our suggestion is to designate specific times or a specific place for guests to use their phones. This will help you avoid the ‘freak out’ moment when a guest realizes that they might not be able to be reached by their babysitter! You can even add a special phone area where guests can charge their phones.

We can’t help but love the idea of unplugging, especially during a ceremony. This is one of the biggest moments of a couple’s life and unplugging guests will allow everyone to be completely present. To plug in or unplug? Where do you stand?

We are thrilled to announce that we will be showcasing our designs at this year’s ‘A Date with a Plate’ charity gala in October 2015 at Moulin at Sherman Mills. A Date with a Plate is a two-day event that benefits charitable causes throughout the Delaware Valley. We will be showcasing alongside other professional event planners, florists, interior designers, caterers, and individuals that will all be sharing their personal style and aesthetic.

A Date With A Plate Philadelphia Bridal Event

‘A Date with a Plate’ begins with an evening ‘Patron’s Party’ followed up with ‘Second Helping’, a daytime event with fun and informative lectures! Both events will include auction and raffle items and a fabulous time. The money raised from ‘A Date with a Plate’ will be directed to Project A.L.S, which works towards finding and funding a cure for neurodegenerative diseases.

If you are looking for crafty concept for your next special event try hosting your own ‘Paint Party’. Painting party or craft themed events have become increasingly popular over the last few years and we love the idea! Get ready to trade in that cocktail dress for a smock and channel your inner Picasso!

We recently planned and designed a 90th Birthday party for one of our very special clients.

Artists painted their own personal piece for the birthday boy! Don’t you just love handmade gifts?!

We even hired an artist to paint the event as it was happening—so cool! Painting parties are an original way to put a spin on your next bachelor/ette party, birthday, office party, or even just a girl’s night out.  Plus, it’s a great excuse to pick up a brush and get creative!

Situated in the heart of the Rittenhouse district, The Westin Philadelphia is one of our favorite hotels in Center City! The luxurious hotel is creatively designed and perfectly combines classic accents with modern details. Whether you are looking for a weekend getaway, planning a business trip, or coordinating a wedding The Westin is a place to see!

The Westin is home to over 300 stylish rooms and is well known for its comfort (especially their beds) and spectacular views. Marble floors and crystal chandeliers are among some of the most opulent details of the hotel.

The Westin features two elegant ballrooms, the Grand Ballroom and the Georgian Ballroom and can host weddings up to 400 guests. Although they are extremely spacious each ballroom is inviting and warm. We love how their space allows for an intimate setting regardless of size!

Hola, from sunny, warm, beachy Mexico!

We are so excited to plan our first ever wedding in beautiful Mexico and I am spending the next few days planning, devising, and outlining all of the BIG aspects of this destination wedding.

The Mexican landscape, flora, and architecture are incredibly inspiring and full of color and texture! Riviera Maya is the perfect palate for our event design team to create a wedding masterpiece. Hey, did I mention the weather?!
