Move aside brides your wedding day isn’t ALL about you, anymore! Well, most of it is but we have to give some credit to the lovely ladies who will be by your side from the “Yes” to the “I do”. Bella Bridesmaids has finally made its way to Philadelphia and we couldn’t be more excited.

Bella Bridesmaids is a wedding boutique that is completely centered on bridesmaid’s fashions. No longer will you have to spend hours picking through dresses only to end up with something you kind of like. Bella Bridesmaids will be home to hundreds of dresses with over 17 designer collections.

The bridesmaids-only boutique opens in September in the Old City neighborhood of downtown Philadelphia. The Philly location will be one of over 40 locations all over the world. Bella Bridesmaids will be open by appointment only and appointments are made with one of the Bella stylist…awesome!

We’re looking forward to our first Philadelphia wedding that features gowns from Bella Bridesmaids. Here are some of our best-dressed bridesmaids from our most recent weddings.

Refreshing and Sweet!

Who would have thought that one of Summer’s ripest fruits would ‘serve’ as the inspiration for a summer soiree?! I love entertaining and hosting get-togethers, especially in this vibrant season. I am always on the look out for refreshing design inspiration and this watermelon styled event I found at ‘Green Wedding Shoes’ is just that!

The amazing invitation suite immediately gives guests a taste of what’s ahead. The tropical botanicals combined with the curly font used on the papery are a super cute and a whimsical design element.

The deep greens used in the floral arrangements allow the ombre-shaded flowers to really pop. I love the combination of chic serving ware and charming signage. The perfect touch of sophistication!

The Fairmount Park Horticulture Center is one of our favorite Philadelphia wedding venues and was the perfect setting for Alison and Eric’s May wedding. The natural spring flora combined with the Fairmount park landscape and Alison’s style combined beautifully for this simple and elegant wedding!

Alison and Eric’s wedding ceremony took place outdoors on the grounds of the Horticulture center. The ceremony design was simple, as we played up the natural elements of the landscape. French tulips set in tall wooden pedestals greeted guests as they arrived to take their seats. The bridesmaids walked down the aisle and added the perfect pop of color as they held bright yellow sunflower bouquets (the bride’s favorite flower)! The traditional wedding ceremony was followed by a Chinese Tea Ceremony where the bride and groom served tea to show respect and honor to their parents. So cool!

The reception was simple and elegant with beautiful pops of bold color! We used a mixed of round tables and farmhouse tables to create a rustic feel. The floral centerpieces were each unique and held a variety of floral choices and colors. Gray linens and seat cushions allowed the arrangements to really pop! The entire evening was dreamy as we used a lot of candle light and draped exposed edison bulbs. The head table was set in front of a backdrop of mismatching mirrors that reflected light throughout the entire room.

The live band had the dancefloor full and Stephen Starr Events supplied the exquisite menu! In lieu of a traditional wedding cake, the bride and groom chose an ice cream cake from Philly Flavors. Check out the amazing images captured by Sarah DiCicco Photography.

Our wedding planning and design team had a blast planning and designing Beth and Andrew’s wedding. Steeped in American history, Bedford Springs was home to all of the amazing weekend festivities. The Omni Bedford Springs was an ideal venue for this 4th of July wedding.

The Omni Bedford Springs is a gorgeous inn and resort that has been operating since 1806. The resort’s architecture and design elements complimented the bride’s vision for the weekend perfectly! Did we mention how great it is to work with the Omni and their staff? Their director of catering, Brian Stiffler is an absolute pleasure!

The weekend kicked off with a rehearsal dinner on the outdoor veranda and ended with the wedding reception in the gorgeous Colonnade Ballroom. Beth’s style was classic and glamorous. We used a mix of old and new pieces that created a rustic yet elegant feel. Take a look at some of our favorite images captured by Sky’s the Limit Photography!

As sad as we are to see the summer go, our event wedding planning and design team is getting super excited as we prepare for the upcoming fall wedding season. This November we are taking on a traditional Indian wedding full of elaborate traditions and gorgeous celebration! We absolutely love all of the detail that is often used in the design elements of these weddings and can’t wait to bring our visions to life.

One of our favorites ceremony details is the Mandap. The Mandap is an altar that is used during the wedding ceremony. Mandaps are traditionally built the day of the wedding and is the place where the bride and groom stand. Many Mandaps are embellished with fabrics, lights, crystals, flowers, and unique objects.

We often see Henna on brides and bridesmaids that are celebrating an Indian Wedding. Henna that is painted on a brides hands and feet is call the Mehndi. This tradition was originally meant to keep the bride and her body cool. It has evolved since and we love seeing the beautiful details and designs that henna artists create.

I love simple things that go together, like, peanut butter and jelly, icing on cupcakes and milk and cookies! Milk and cookies were a childhood staple of mine, but what goes better than milk with cookies? Milk & whoopies!

I often take my nephews for the weekend and they are so much fun. We started this past weekend out with a very ambitious and fabulous baking party! Our baking bash began with whipping up the whoopies. If you’ve never had one they are a must try. They’re kind of like a grown up version of a ‘devil dog’ and they are an awesome alternative to cupcakes!

As we waited for the whoopie pies to bake and we prepared the rest of our ‘meal’. I have a plethora of classic glass milk bottles because they’re awesome! So we filled these with our milk and of course we added chocolate.

Just to shake things up a bit we brought out vanilla and chocolate ice cream and coffee flavored whipped cream! I have a beautiful set of ceramic bowls and trays that look just like white birch. They perfectly complemented all of the colors of our sweet ingredients!

Baking was the perfect way to keep the kids and myself entertained. I love finding inspiration while planning our weekends and the more creative I get the more fun we all have!
