We are thrilled to be a part of the The Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus’ Fourth Annual Fall Ball Masquerade on Saturday, October 17th 2015! The Philadelphia Loews Hotel will be home to this year’s Carnaval themed masquerade and we can’t wait to see it all come together.

This PGMC event is black-tie optional and is set to include so many exciting elements and festivities. What to expect? Live performances by Minas, Casa Brazilia, and Brotherly Love (PGMC’s ensemble), an open bar, dancing, “Sexy Ball Boys” and live and silent auctions.

This year our creative design and event planning team has donated a “Designer for the Day” gift to be auctioned off during the silent auction. One lucky attendee will have the chance to bid for the prize to become an “Uncommon Designer for the Day”! The Uncommon Designer winner will have the opportunity to spend a day with five of their favorite people and our Creative Director, Jessica Mader, at our Design Studio. These special six will get a tour of our facilities, props, and will receive hands on experience on how to create an amazing floral centerpiece. Our special guests will even get to take their handmade creations home! We will finish the day with a group lunch that includes our event planning and design team. Here our guests will have the chance to pick our brains about the industry and the special events that we create.

We are proud supporters of the Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus and hope you will join us on Saturday, October 17th! For more information or to Buy Tickets click here!

As our final farewell to summer, we are looking back at one of our favorite beach weddings. Stephanie and Jonathan’s Jersey shore wedding celebration was the perfect combination of fabulous and fun!

The Reeds at Shelter Haven is a gorgeous hotel located in the quaint New Jersey Shore town, Stone Harbor and was the perfect setting for this laid back, yet elegant summer wedding. Our event planning and design team used shades of greys and mossy greens that were accented by bright pops of canary yellow in all of the design elements. The traditional wedding ceremony was located outdoors, so we hung bright yellow parasols as a canopy for our bride and groom to say, “I do”. Take a look at some of our favorite images from this gorgeous day taken by the talented, Dave Robbins Photography!

We love art in all its shapes and sizes, forms and non-forms. The controversial urban art form known as ‘street art’ or ‘graffiti’ is a hot topic all over the world and happens to be one of my favorite parts of living in and visiting major cities. My recent trip to Paris, France reinforced my love for public visual arts and left me craving more.

Paris is known for their underground art scene and street art seems to be hiding around every corner. Here are some of the images we captured while strolling around the city.

We are getting so excited for all things fall especially as we prepare to open the ticket sales on October 15th for Love Is In The Air 2016 at the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center. Once again we are teaming up with the incredible catering and event company, Stephen Starr Events to host an evening of bridal fashions, couture catering, and wedding designs on Thursday, February 25th. Take a look back with us at some of the highlight of the past few years.

The Philadelphia Fringe Festival is in full effect and is one of the season’s most exciting festivals. The Fringe Festival is presented by FringeArts and known for hosting incredible performance artists from all over the world. Lucky for us we get to work with one of FringeArts’ performers, Gunnar Montana!

Gunnar Montana is a Philadelphia based choreographer and dancer who has appeared in performances all over the Philadelphia area and is always pushing the creative envelope. At this year’s Fringe Festival, Montana explores the state of “Purgatory” in his provocative and exciting production. Montana’s concepts and ideas are a force to be reckoned with, as he is constantly bettering his artistry in every aspect of performance art.

We highly suggest making your way over to the Fringe Festival before it ends on September 19th.

We can’t wait to share what we have planned with Gunnar this October. Stay Tuned!

If you have yet to check out “Discovering the Impressionists” exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art we highly suggest you make your way over. I had the pleasure of viewing this collection a couple of weeks ago and it was magnificent. Upon my return from France with a visit to Monet’s home and gardens, I was re-inspired by these incredible bodies of work.

The background of the collection is ALMOST as fun as the actual art work. Paul Durand-Ruel, the art dealer behind this collection, inherited artwork from his parents in the late 1800’s and continued to conserve, buy and sell artwork throughout his life. Durand-Ruel discovered this specific group of artists, who later became known as the Impressionists. Durand-Ruel promoted their work over several decades and built an audience that created a market for modern art. He established relationships with collectors all over the world with branches in London, Brussels, and New York. Impressionism would not exist without his efforts.

The Impressionists exhibit displays works from Monet, Renoir, Degas, Manet, and Pissarro. Paul Durand-Ruel helped introduce this “new” style of painting to the public and created an identity for the artists to move to international fame. We are certainly glad that he did! The exhibition ends on September 13th and the Philadelphia Museum of Art is the only United States venue to host this exhibit. If your weekend plans are not yet set in stone, we highly suggest penciling in this exhibit!

After spending a couple of weeks on vacation in Europe you could say we were searching for something to keep us feeling like we were on holiday. That’s when we stumbled upon Rittenhouse Square’s newest bar and restaurant, Bar Bombon.

Bar Bombon, located at 133 South 18th street had us feeling like we had stepped out of Philadelphia and into a Latin adventure. The small eatery was welcoming with outdoor café seating and long windows that were open, allowing conversation between guests both inside and out. Bar Bombon’s interior was beautifully designed with terracotta flooring, intricately detailed tile, and bright textiles in the dining room. The interior was well thought out with the bathrooms being one of my favorite spaces.

The food is Latin inspired and ALL vegan. The best part about this is that I had no idea it was a vegan establishment until I read over the menu a few times. Portions were perfect and the drinks were incredible. If you like Mezcal, there are plenty of options!

Check out some of the images I snapped while having a light Saturday brunch.

We love looking back at some of our favorite Philadelphia weddings and events. Today we look back at the whimsical and fabulous wedding of Liz and Andrew at The Merion Cricket Club.

Liz and Andrew are one of our favorite couples and the reason behind my nickname, “Fairy Godmother Badass”. The Merion Cricket Club’s style and design was the perfect setting for an elegant yet whimsical reception. The venue’s grounds and the ballroom were perfect for our creative event design team’s vision.

The Papery created the invitation suite, which was stunning and the perfect glimpse into the celebrations style and design. We carried the tree theme from the save the date to the escort cards and even design elements throughout the reception.

Bonjour!

Our event planning and design team landed in France a few days ago to take on our end-of-summer vacation! As we began perusing the streets of Paris I was immediately reminded of Europe’s (and especially France) never-ending source of inspiration. With only a few days under our belts we have already experienced some of Paris’ most beautiful spaces, incredible landscapes and amazing shopping. Check out some of the images we snapped while out and about.

Sainte Chapelle or “Holy Chapel” is a royal medieval Gothic chapel located in the heart of Paris, France. The architecture and stained glass windows were incredible.
