Happy October Friends & Family! The holiday season is quickly approaching and as our first gift to you we have opened our early-bird admission tickets for our annual couture bridal event, Love is in the Air 2017.
Every year, we plan and design Love is in the Air as an opportunity to provide awesome inspiration for Brides! This is our 6th year hosting the event at The Fairmount Park Horticulture Center and #LIITA2017 will be held on Thursday, February 23rd from 6pm to 8:30pm.
What to expect from #LIITA2017? The STARR Events team will be serving up their incredible catering with lip smacking cocktails. Our design team will have the entire venue decked out to the nines in the most over the top event and floral design paired with china, flatware, and glassware from Bloomingdales. Lovely Bride Philadelphia and Nordstrom will host a runway show featuring the trendiest wedding fashions. The Philadelphia Wedding Magazine team and some of Philadelphia’s best in the wedding industry will all be under the same glass roof (remember, it’s a greenhouse) for one night only.
Tickets for LIITA2017 are available here. Hint, hint – they make an awesome Christmas gift!
And just to hold you over until February, here are some highlights from the last couple of years with us.
We recently had the chance to chat with Lauren from Trousseau Style, a boutique styling agency located in Philadelphia. Lauren is the owner and head stylist at Trousseau and has worked with many brides and bridesmaids to make sure they find the perfect outfit for their big day and the days surrounding.
“I’ve always been into fashion. Playing dress-up is a pretty basic pastime for kids, but I really took it to the next level. I snuck lipstick for my first grade school pictures. And I can actually remember sleeping in a new pair of shoes because I wanted to wake up in the middle of the night and catch a glimpse of those beauties. You get the idea…
So I guess it’s no surprise that upon graduating from Flagler College in St. Augustine, FL, I moved home to Philadelphia and set-out for a career in fashion. I gained experience working for local boutiques, fashion start-ups and large retailers like Nordstrom and Lilly Pulitzer.
Through all the different stages of my career, there was always a conversation about white dresses and other garments for events surrounding weddings. This was a conversation I always took particular interest in.
When I got engaged in 2014, I realized what all the fuss was about and found myself overwhelmed with planning our wedding and styling outfits for all of the events surrounding our wedding. As a fashion-obsessed perfectionist, I was determined to find the perfect dress for our engagement photos. But it wasn’t the right season to find a white summer dress and between work and life, I didn’t have time to spend endless hours shopping.
Then, a light bulb went off. I realized I couldn’t be the only bride-to-be striving for perfection and lacking time. So, I created a survey and asked everyone I knew who was engaged or had gotten married in the past 3 years what their shopping experience was like. Turns out, it was very similar to mine, stressful. I continued to test my idea with Facebook ads, growing an email list, and having several conversations with brides-to-be. As it turned out, I wasn’t alone in my stressful search for perfection and brides-to-be were very interested in being styled.
So, Trousseau Style was born! I offer wardrobe styling for all things bridal; engagement shoots, engagement parties, bridal showers, bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinners, the big day, bridesmaids, etc.! I work with the bride and her vendors to determine her personal style and the overall theme of her wedding and/or event to incorporate those elements into her look. It’s so important to me to make sure all aspects of the wedding/event are cohesive, from the venue, to the flowers, the menu, invitations and of course, the outfit. It takes the stress completely off the bride and makes the experience what it should be, fun and exciting!
Through a style survey and consultation (in person or remote), I get a solid understanding for the bride’s personal style, color palette, budget, theme, etc. I’ll send her visual options that allow her to pick and choose items until we decide on a look. At that point, I’ll either send her links where she can purchase the items, shop for her, or shop with her, depending on her preference. It’s a comprehensive process. When we are finished our work together, the bride will know exactly how to style her look, how to wear her hair and makeup and ideas on how to re-wear her look after the event (unless it’s her wedding dress!).
It’s been an exciting process and I can honestly say it never gets old. There are always new trends, old treasures and an amazing outfit waiting to happen. The possibilities are endless!”
We are thrilled to have Lauren and Trousseau Style in the house with us this Thursday, February 25th for Love is in the Air 2016. Learn more about her and her team on her website or in person at #LIITA2016. Tickets available but limited!

True Philadelphians know, when it comes to thriving, Philly’s art scene is bursting at its urban seams. We couldn’t be more excited to have the work of Philly-based lighting sculptor, Warren Muller adorning our brand-new warehouse and studio.
Using found objects and whimsical light arrangements, Muller creates one-of-a-kind chandeliers and sculptures. With his partner, Interior Designer RJ Thornburg, the two comprise Bahdeebahdu, a gallery and working space located in the Olde Kensington neighborhood. Bahdeebahdu offers design services to homes, hotels, restaurants, and corporate settings. If you haven’t had a chance to swing by their studio/gallery it is a MUST see.
Lucky for us, Warren will be illuminating our bespoke bridal event; Love is in the Air 2016 with some of his incredible work. Join us on Thursday, February 25th with STARR Events at the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center for an incredible evening of event design, fashion, and couture catering. For those of you who can’t wait, here are a few shots of the beautiful piece Warren created for the UE headquarters.

We are thrilled to announce that we will be showcasing our designs at this year’s ‘A Date with a Plate’ charity gala in October 2015 at Moulin at Sherman Mills. A Date with a Plate is a two-day event that benefits charitable causes throughout the Delaware Valley. We will be showcasing alongside other professional event planners, florists, interior designers, caterers, and individuals that will all be sharing their personal style and aesthetic.
‘A Date with a Plate’ begins with an evening ‘Patron’s Party’ followed up with ‘Second Helping’, a daytime event with fun and informative lectures! Both events will include auction and raffle items and a fabulous time. The money raised from ‘A Date with a Plate’ will be directed to Project A.L.S, which works towards finding and funding a cure for neurodegenerative diseases.

A homage to the ultimate in artistic expression #LoveIsInTheAir2015, Philadelphia’s bridal event of the year, at the Philadelphia Horticulture Center—was truly a night to remember from beginning to regrettable ending! Surprise waited around every bend as guests meandered through the incredible event.
The entire evening represented the most state of the art design concepts. Take a look at this amazing short film created by Cinemacake Filmmakers that highlights the entire evening from start to finish!
The rhythm and bump of limousines greeted guests outside of the venue entrance as they arrived. Cocktail hour took place in the display garden as Stephen STARR Events served hors d’oeuvres and the Philadelphia String Quartet entertained guests.
As cocktail hour came to a close, guests were invited into the much-anticipated Lovely Bride and Commonwealth Proper fashion show! With Big Ric of Bic Ric Rising as the MC, there was no better way to end the fashion show than with a dance party!
We are big fans of the Philadelphia Flower Show that takes place each year at the Pennsylvania Convention Center! We especially love their bridal event Wedding Wednesday, that highlights the best vendors of the Philadelphia wedding industry. Attendees can expect the Hollywood treatment, with hair and makeup trials, photo booths, and samples from Philadelphia’s most prestigious venues and caterers. Guests will also be invited to a real, fairytale-like wedding ceremony that will take place the evening of the show!
As a nod to the 2015 Philadelphia Flower Show theme “Celebrate the Movies”, our Creative Director, Jessica Mader created a Casablanca themed film table at #LoveIsInTheAir2015.
Thank you MK Photography for capturing these great photos of the Casablanca table!
