Snap My Wedding

Our event planners and designers, work hard to help personalize your big day down to the smallest detail. Imagine our excitement when we heard that the fine folks over at Snapchat have recently added an awesome new feature that allows you to create a personalized filter for your wedding! Now your family and friends can join in the fun of Snapping and documenting your nuptials with a totally unique Geofilter.

Not hip to Snapchat lingo? A geofilter is a filter that your Snapchat app recognizes at a specific GPS coordinate, during a particular time frame. You can create one that lasts for a few hours during your reception, or for the entire wedding weekend. It’s an extra-special touch that will delight your guests and give them souvenirs to both share in the moment and to take with them when they download their ‘story’.

You can craft a filter that matches your invitations, stamps photos with your names and date, or strings flowers from your bouquet above your guests’ smiling faces. Snapchat allows you to get super creative while keeping it easy.

Hoping to dive a little deeper into making your Snapchat filter a reality? Head to Snapchat.com, upload your design, and wait one day for approval to make sure that your design fits the platform’s specifications. Once approved, you pick where and how long you would like the Geofilter to appear, and, voila! You and your guests are happily snapping away on your wedding day. We absolutely encourage you check out this fantastic new way to add another touch of magic to your event.

If you are lucky enough to call yourself a Philadelphian, chances are you’ve visited the incredible Fishtown creamery, Little Baby’s Ice Cream. This small-batch and handmade ice cream oasis is home to a crew of super talented and creative people! We are proud to share a city with these creative ice cream geniuses and we can’t wait to be under the same glass roof with them at Love Is In The Air 2017.

Did we mention their long list of amazing and unique ice cream flavors? When we say unique, we MEAN unique. Little Baby’s specializes in surprising and delicious flavors like Balsamic Banana, Early Grey Sriracha, Everything Bagel…even Ranch! Rumor has it the Ranch pairs very well with their Pizza flavor. EEK! If this is a little too far out of your taste bud range – don’t worry. They have semi-traditional flavors such as Birch Beer Vanilla Bean, Chocolate Salt Malt, Sweet Potato Burnt Marshmallow or Cherry Hibiscus. Little Baby’s seem to have something for everyone, and that includes vegans. The menu is proudly 40% vegan!

AND just when you think Little Baby’s couldn’t get any cooler, they do. They take their treats on the road via freezer equipped tricycles. That means that you can enjoy their ice cream anytime, anywhere. Late night wedding treat perhaps? Little Baby’s Ice Cream tricycle is the perfect surprise for your guests at the end of your Philadelphia wedding or event.

Lucky for you, we are hosting Little Baby’s at Love is in the Air at the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center this February. Early bird tickets to #LIITA2017 and more info here!

With the new season comes NEWS and we’re so excited to announce that our planning and design team is working on two really fun projects at the Union League of Philadelphia, this Fall. Hooray!

On Friday, October 7th, we’ll be designing the Pennsylvania Ballet’s Annual Fall Gala. The gala is a black-tie event that is celebrating the Ballet’s 53rd season. The theme ‘Princesses and Pirates’ is inspired by two full-length ballets that are scheduled for this upcoming season. This year’s theme has our design team super excited, because who doesn’t love princesses and pirates? If you’re interested in joining in on the fun and spending an evening dancing the night away at the Union League of Philadelphia, tickets are still available here.

On November 9th, we’ll be styling and designing the reception and ceremony for The Inaugural Trumbauer Awards. The Philadelphia Chapter of The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art hosts this event each year to recognize the work of both individuals and firms that work to preserve and advance classical tradition in the Philadelphia region. You could say they keep it classic! We are so honored to be a part of it. If you are interested in being a part of it too, tickets are available here.

Hey Gals & Guys!

SO much is moving and grooving as we enter into the Fall Season! If you didn’t already know the national Wedding Industry Professionals Association (WIPA) just opened a Philadelphia chapter and guess what? Our team is a part of it!

WIPA is a national organization that promotes the best business practices for wedding industry professionals within the industry. The organization acknowledges the need for business quality, experience and expertise and will be focused on education and information sharing. I’m thrilled to be a member of the board this year and part of the curation of four non-member events that will focus on discovering Philadelphia talent.

Our event planning and design team recently attended the first WIPA Philadelphia networking event at Bourbon and Blue (New Orleans love right there!) and we had such a good time. I’m thrilled to be a member of the board this year and part of the curation of four events that will focus on discovering Philadelphia talent..  If you’re looking for more information or ways to get involved check out their membership page here!

xoxo,

This spring was jam-packed with AWESOME and in the midst of lots of wedding planning and design, we created the centerpieces for the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts Gala at The Kimmel Center! One of our favorite pieces featured a pair of customized Converse sneakers created by local artist Lori Felt.

Each of the Gala centerpieces that we created served as a nod to some of the festival’s biggest installations and performances. We commissioned Felt to customize a pair of sneakers for each of the “Sneaker Suite” centerpieces. For those of you who didn’t get a chance to attend, Sneaker Suite was a multi-layered performance featuring Los Angeles based hip-hop dance troupe Antics and it included dance, poetry, voiceover and theater. The performance focused on the importance of sneakers in hip-hop culture, hence, our sneaker collaboration with Lori Felt!

We first discovered Felt when she introduced Philadelphia to her line of bridal sneakers (so cool) and we were big fans from the beginning. How could you not love her use of vibrant colors and vivid imagery? On top of being incredibly talented, Felt uses her art to create awareness around awesome organizations like Breast Cancer Research and Autism Awareness. We’re looking forward to our next chance to work together! Check out more from Lori here.

As Philadelphia Wedding and Event planners there’s not much more exciting then when we discover a new venue or event space. That’s why we were thrilled to hear about the new plans that Cescaphe Event Group has for the Fairmount Water Works.

Located at the foot of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and waterfront, the Water Works has amazing views of Boathouse Row and Center City…perfect for wedding day photos! The venue is home to multiple event spaces, all of which boast neoclassical architecture and elegant details. With indoor and outdoor options the Water Works is customizable for brides and grooms to cater toward a large wedding of up to 400 guests or something as intimate as 85 guests.

Water Works is the perfect venue for brides and grooms that are looking to capture quintessential Philadelphia, as it is over 200 years old and a National Historic Landmark. We can’t wait to host one of our incredible events with the Cescaphe team, but in the mean time these beautiful photos will have to hold us over!

Want your cake and to eat it too? We know the feeling. Planning a wedding registry can be daunting when you can’t make up your mind. That’s why our wedding planning team was so thrilled when we discovered Zola, an online wedding registry that allows users to combine the brands and products they love all on a single page.

Zola is way more than just a wedding registry. In addition to allowing users and guests to choose products from brands from all over the world, Zola helps users file through products to find the must have staples and the most up and coming brands. Users can also install an “Add to Zola” button to their web browser that allows them to add gifts from other sites around the Internet. So cool!

Not as concerned about “things” on your registry? Zola also offers users the ability to discover experiences, like a cooking class or wine tasting. The site allows you to browse through local and national workshops and experiences. Not quite sold yet? Zola users have the ability to get really creative with their registry by creating a “Funds” page. This page can be used toward your dream honeymoon, a new home or to give back to your favorite charity. So cool!

Check out their Instagram page to gain some inspiration for your registry!

Juliska inspired Cookie Favors

At our most recent design show, Love is in the Air 2016 our creative director, Jessica Mader incorporated guest favors into the table design and it was fantastic! We are big fans of subtle surprises, especially in design, and these Juliska inspired cookie favors were the perfect way to add an element of surprise!

Juliska is a bohemian glassware company that creates handcrafted collections that are rich with detail and totally practical! We love the versatility in Juliska’s glassware and dinnerware and highly recommend mixing and matching various shapes, styles, and patterns.

For the Parisian inspired table at Love is in the Air 2016, Jessica used solely Juliska china and complimented the table with Juliska inspired cookies designed by Whipped Bakeshop. When layered on the top of the table setting the cookies blended so perfectly that they looked like another piece of China! Take a peek at our favorite images!

The 800 guests in attendance will enjoy cocktails, dinner, dessert and dancing and will be presented with the official tree unveiling and a special performance. Hoping for a sneak peek into our table designs? A hint of what’s in store; each table will represent one of the main performance pieces throughout the festival.

Love is in the Air 2016 Recapped

Love is in the Air 2016, was one for the books! Love wasn’t only in the air, this year it was in the vibe, on the tablescapes, in the flower arrangements, on the runway, in the delectable food and its presentations, and on the faces of everyone, presenters and attendees alike! Our event planning and design team had a fabulous time and each year seems to get better and better!

garden-entrance-fairmount-park-horticulture-center-philadelphia

It truly was an experience from the moment our guests entered through the double doors of the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center, where staggered pillars of candlelight and my smiling team greeted them! The Horticulture Center is always an inviting space, especially in the depths of a cold winter and we are so happy that it was home to #LIITA2016.

Cocktail hour quickly led into a fashion show curated by Lovely Bride and Henry A. Davidsen and hosted by 2 Life Talent. Guests oo’d and ahh’d as fringe, beads and buttons, and even a female pants suit rocked the runway. Our LIITA partner, STARR events catered the entire evening and it was fabulous. Their food (almost) looked too good to eat!
