With the new season comes NEWS and we’re so excited to announce that our planning and design team is working on two really fun projects at the Union League of Philadelphia, this Fall. Hooray!

On Friday, October 7th, we’ll be designing the Pennsylvania Ballet’s Annual Fall Gala. The gala is a black-tie event that is celebrating the Ballet’s 53rd season. The theme ‘Princesses and Pirates’ is inspired by two full-length ballets that are scheduled for this upcoming season. This year’s theme has our design team super excited, because who doesn’t love princesses and pirates? If you’re interested in joining in on the fun and spending an evening dancing the night away at the Union League of Philadelphia, tickets are still available here.

On November 9th, we’ll be styling and designing the reception and ceremony for The Inaugural Trumbauer Awards. The Philadelphia Chapter of The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art hosts this event each year to recognize the work of both individuals and firms that work to preserve and advance classical tradition in the Philadelphia region. You could say they keep it classic! We are so honored to be a part of it. If you are interested in being a part of it too, tickets are available here.

Until Next Time,

We are thrilled to be a part of the The Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus’ Fourth Annual Fall Ball Masquerade on Saturday, October 17th 2015! The Philadelphia Loews Hotel will be home to this year’s Carnaval themed masquerade and we can’t wait to see it all come together.

This PGMC event is black-tie optional and is set to include so many exciting elements and festivities. What to expect? Live performances by Minas, Casa Brazilia, and Brotherly Love (PGMC’s ensemble), an open bar, dancing, “Sexy Ball Boys” and live and silent auctions.

This year our creative design and event planning team has donated a “Designer for the Day” gift to be auctioned off during the silent auction. One lucky attendee will have the chance to bid for the prize to become an “Uncommon Designer for the Day”! The Uncommon Designer winner will have the opportunity to spend a day with five of their favorite people and our Creative Director, Jessica Mader, at our Design Studio. These special six will get a tour of our facilities, props, and will receive hands on experience on how to create an amazing floral centerpiece. Our special guests will even get to take their handmade creations home! We will finish the day with a group lunch that includes our event planning and design team. Here our guests will have the chance to pick our brains about the industry and the special events that we create.

We are proud supporters of the Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus and hope you will join us on Saturday, October 17th! For more information or to Buy Tickets click here!

Bar Bombon Opens In Philadelphia

After spending a couple of weeks on vacation in Europe you could say we were searching for something to keep us feeling like we were on holiday. That’s when we stumbled upon Rittenhouse Square’s newest bar and restaurant, Bar Bombon.

Bar Bombon, located at 133 South 18th street had us feeling like we had stepped out of Philadelphia and into a Latin adventure. The small eatery was welcoming with outdoor café seating and long windows that were open, allowing conversation between guests both inside and out. Bar Bombon’s interior was beautifully designed with terracotta flooring, intricately detailed tile, and bright textiles in the dining room. The interior was well thought out with the bathrooms being one of my favorite spaces.

The food is Latin inspired and ALL vegan. The best part about this is that I had no idea it was a vegan establishment until I read over the menu a few times. Portions were perfect and the drinks were incredible. If you like Mezcal, there are plenty of options!

Check out some of the images I snapped while having a light Saturday brunch.

Refreshing and Sweet!

Who would have thought that one of Summer’s ripest fruits would ‘serve’ as the inspiration for a summer soiree?! I love entertaining and hosting get-togethers, especially in this vibrant season. I am always on the look out for refreshing design inspiration and this watermelon styled event I found at ‘Green Wedding Shoes’ is just that!

The amazing invitation suite immediately gives guests a taste of what’s ahead. The tropical botanicals combined with the curly font used on the papery are a super cute and a whimsical design element.

The deep greens used in the floral arrangements allow the ombre-shaded flowers to really pop. I love the combination of chic serving ware and charming signage. The perfect touch of sophistication!

Summer Birthday Inspiration

Birthdays are for celebrating and who doesn’t love a good birthday party?! In many ways planning a summer birthday party can be less stressful than planning some of those bigger milestone events. With less pressure and little to no schedule comes room for more fun! Now, just because we may not have spent as much time fretting over the details doesn’t mean these special days don’t deserve some of the spotlight.

My birthday happens to fall in the month of July and I thought I would share some of my favorite party decor sites and their totally awesome products.

I found Studio Mucci on Etsy and I absolutely love their balloons and fabric tassel banners. All of their products are so much fun – check these out!

Philly Welcomes Indego Bike Share

With spring comes warm weather, longer days, and bicycle season (for us fair-weather riders)! Luckily for Philadelphians, the City of Philadelphia has introduced Indego, the first ever bike share project. For those of you who have only seen this city on two feet or four wheels it is time to trade them in for two!

Indego officially rode onto the city scene in early May and in perfect timing! This newest public transportation system is sponsored by Independence Blue Cross and offers over 600 bikes and 60 docking stations throughout the city.

Philly Indego Bike

This weekend, I had the pleasure of giving Indego a spin and I was pleasantly surprised! The website describes the Indego experience perfectly, “Get a bike, go for a ride, give it back. It’s easy – just like riding a bike”. How clever and accurate?! I used the B-cycle app and it was extremely convenient. The app allows you to view the nearest station to your pick up and drop off destinations as well as bicycle availability.

Indego’s bikes are larger than a road bike and a bit heavy but very comfortable. They even come equipped with not one, but two baskets! Love that!

The weather was perfect for a Saturday bike ride so we hit the streets early. Center City was bustling with what seemed like a different festival in each neighborhood so we headed north to Fishtown. Just north of Girard, Fishtown is home to galleries, bars, restaurants, music venues and most importantly, La Colombe’s flagship café! If you have yet to experience this beautiful space it is a must see.
