We have been bursting with excitement over the last couple of weeks as photographs have been flying in from our most recent Philadelphia weddings. We are even more excited to share Katherine and Jesse’s May wedding. It was the perfect mix of romantic and classic.

Katherine and Jesse’s big day began with their first look and photographs in and around the Merion area of Pennsylvania. The stunning couple said their ‘I’ Dos’ at the Church of the Holy Redeemer before heading to their reception at the Overbrook Country Club.

Overbrook Country Club is a privately held golf club located on 128 acres of rolling hills in Bryn Mawr, PA. Its traditional but unique look was the perfect setting for Katherine and Jesse’s reception.

The entire day was so beautiful, simple and charming from start to finish. Our creative event and wedding design team used shades of pink, ivory, champagne and gold as the main colors throughout the day. Soft shades of pink and ivory florals created a soft and feminine feel. We used a mix of high and low vases that were both clear and gold. The escort table arrangement was stunning in a gold chalice vase brimming with gorgeous flowers.

The tables were dressed in champagne silk and topped with an ornate hand embroidered linen. Cocktail napkins and bar signage were customized and added a unique twist to the reception. For chairs, we used a mix of the country club’s chairs and added chivaris with blush seat cushions. For the outdoor cocktail reception we used mainly white florals in gold and blush vases. Pops of gold throughout the evening added the perfect amount of elegance!

The photographers, Paper Antler, are a husband and wife team hailing from Minneapolis, MN.They captured the day better than we could have ever imagined. I can’t wait to work with them again!

Applause From Alison & Erik’s Wedding

I want to thank the Uncommon Events team for all that you did to make Alison’s and Erik’s wedding the most wonderful, amazing, beautiful day! It was perhaps the best day of my life since the day she was born. So many people had so many nice things to say. The flowers, the food, the décor, the band and all the things that were obvious to our guests drew raves. Only Margot and I could recognize all of the other things that you did that were less visible, but no less important, to making the event such a successful (and uncommon!) event. Coordination and attention to detail made it happen. Thank you not only for you efforts, but also for both your calmness and your excitement when each were needed or appropriate. It was great to work with you. Your professionalism was apparent throughout, but your personal empathy was even more appreciated. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

My very best regards,

Jim – Father of the Bride

Dear Melissa, Amanda and Jess:

How can I begin to thank you for the spectacular place you created for us?  Every nook and cranny had another lovely scene to visually enjoy, with your painstaking efforts in full view.

We will have the photos in about six weeks, so we will be able to show you more, but just know the environment you helped us create was executed beautifully.  We have received so many kudos for the library table, the dessert bar (loved the swings!!!) ,  and so many compliments for the “reveal” into the magical twinkling dining room.  Our family and friends  provided the love, and the warmth to surround ourselves, but you made the glorious space a perfect venue to celebrate.  We danced and danced, loving every minute in your gorgeous creation.

Our family is on Cloud 9, emotionally thrilled, physically exhausted.

With huge gratitude and many, many thanks.
