Happy Summer! We’re still gushing over Maddie & Dan’s Wedding at The Fairmount Park Horticulture Center this past June. Our event planning and design team LOVED working with Maddie to bring her fairytale wedding dreams to life.

The wedding design was the perfect mixture of rustic elegance and modern chic! Our pals at Maggpie Vintage Rentals supplied us with an awesome combination of contemporary and vintage pieces of furniture that we used for the head table and for vignettes that were placed throughout the event space. The venue was accented with bright floral centerpieces that graced the tables and were hung from the ceiling! We made the head table extra special with exposed Edison bulb lighting that hung at various heights over the head tables.

The wedding reception was bumping with music from CTO Park Central and the most amazing catering from STARR Events. Sweet T’s Bakeshop created an epic salted caramel wedding cake that we accented with fresh flowers and figs! One of our favorite details of the wedding was the escort card table created as a nod to Maddie’s favorite Holiday, Christmas! Take a look at the gorgeous images captured by Becka Pillmore Photography and keep an eye out on the blog for the wedding film captured by Cinemacake Filmmakers.

As Philadelphia Wedding and Event planners there’s not much more exciting then when we discover a new venue or event space. That’s why we were thrilled to hear about the new plans that Cescaphe Event Group has for the Fairmount Water Works.

Located at the foot of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and waterfront, the Water Works has amazing views of Boathouse Row and Center City…perfect for wedding day photos! The venue is home to multiple event spaces, all of which boast neoclassical architecture and elegant details. With indoor and outdoor options the Water Works is customizable for brides and grooms to cater toward a large wedding of up to 400 guests or something as intimate as 85 guests.

Water Works is the perfect venue for brides and grooms that are looking to capture quintessential Philadelphia, as it is over 200 years old and a National Historic Landmark. We can’t wait to host one of our incredible events with the Cescaphe team, but in the mean time these beautiful photos will have to hold us over!

Last week our creative design team had the pleasure of creating a tablescape for Feast your Eyes Catering’s Winter Tasting Event at Front & Palmer. Guests enjoyed event design by local planners and designers, food and drink by Feast Your Eyes Catering and live music from American Deluxe Band. Front & Palmer, a former barrel factory in the art district of Kensington, is one of our favorite new venues. The industrial styled space is home to 35-foot ceilings, wood floors, and incredible chandeliers designed by local design studio, Bahdeebahdu. Check out some of our favorite captures from the evening by Peach Plum Pear Photography.

Sunny and warm November days can be few and far between for us in the North East, but lucky for our event planning and design team, Shradda and Peter’s Wedding day was all of this and more! Clark + Walker Studio used the amazing weather and lighting to their full advantage and we couldn’t be happier with the album of images.

The wedding weekend began with a Friday night rehearsal dinner at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts (PAFA). STARR Events catered the evening that was set among an exhibit of sculptured statues.

The bridal party kicked off wedding day with breakfast at Le Meridien, a gorgeous hotel located a block away from PAFA. After a morning of hair and makeup with all of her special ladies, Shradda met Peter for their first look.

We loved Shradda and Peter’s approach to their wedding day and their intention to keep the day personal. Before the ceremony began, our bride and groom took to the streets for a photo shoot in the Fairmount neighborhood of Philadelphia. Their images were amazing and set in the neighborhood where they live and spend their lives together.

After photos, the Indian Wedding Ceremony started with a barat that was led by two drummers from Le Meridien to PAFA. June, a gorgeous white horse was dressed to the nines and carried our groom up Broad Street to the outdoor ceremony. Our creative director, Jessica Mader, used deep emerald fabric for draping, hanging crystals, and deep hues of orange and red roses to decorate the amazing Mandap.

STARR events catered the cocktail hour and reception that took place in several art galleries inside PAFA. The centerpieces were a mix a short and tall floral arrangements that were accented by rose gold. Our design team used a mix of linens and chargers that complimented the space beautifully. We couldn’t be happier with the venue and all our vendors that made the day so special. Take a look at some of our favorites images!

2015 was a year of many firsts for our event planning and design team, one of them being a 4th of July Wedding at the Omni Bedford Springs Resort.

The entire weekend of festivities went off without a hitch and it was beautiful. We loved working with Beth and Andrew through the entire planning process. It was a pleasure to be a part of their wedding day!

The Omni Bedford Springs Resort was an amazing backdrop for the weekend and their staff was incredible to work with, especially their Director of Catering, Bryan Stiffler. We also spent the weekend working alongside Sky’s the Limit Photography and Cinemacake Filmmakers who captured the experience so well. Check out Beth and Andrew’s Wedding Video below!

We’re looking forward to even more amazing in 2016!

The sun may not have been shining on Jess & Jake’s wedding day but we had the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center lit up! With a hurricane forecasted for the weekend, our event planning and design team turned plan A into plan B and it was fabulous. Photographer Mark Tassoni gave us a sneak peek into the wedding album and we couldn’t wait to share with you!

Starr Events Catering group prepared the menu and cocktails for the evening. Their service and presentation is hard to beat, especially in the Philadelphia area and we absolutely love working with them!

Maggpie Vintage Rentals supplied us with some incredible accent furniture. The head tables were exposed farmhouse tables that we layered with delicate sequined linen – perfect combination of rustic and elegant.

Uncommon Events October Happenings

The Fall season came in strong this year for our event planning and design team and as October lifts off we see no signs of slowing down! This past week was all over the map for us (literally) and was full of fun collaboration with some of our favorites in the biz.

Our weekend of events began on Thursday with a Democratic luncheon at The Fridge in Washington, DC. Our event planning and design team spent the morning turning the small art gallery into a perfect setting for cocktails and conversation. The fabulous Starr Events catered the afternoon luncheon – beautiful and delicious! The chic setting would not have been possible without rentals from Cort Event Furnishings.
