Philadelphia’s Bridal Fashion Trends

We are really inspired by this year’s incredible bridal fashion trends! The 2015 bridal runways were graced by designers like Oscar De La Renta and Vera Wang, and full of dramatic necklines, layers of tulle, and every sleeve you can imagine! We really loved the new colors that ranged from shades of blue and gray to mint green. For men, flannel cloths, patterns, and textures are all the rage! We saw lightweight, slim fitting flannels, and fine tweeds that channeled English proper.

Luckily, we Philadelphians have Lovely Bride and Commonwealth Proper to fulfill all of our haute couture needs. Both of these amazing specialty shops will be featuring their stunning fashions on the runway at #LoveIsInTheAir2015, on Thursday, February 26th at The Horticulture Center, in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia!

Here are some of our favorite 2015 wedding dresses by Lovely Bride.

beaded wedding dress

The strapless sweetheart neckline and beaded top give a 30’s glam feel to this gown and we love how romantic the tiered skirt looks!

This off the shoulder gown with short sleeves is stunning. The lace bodice and slim fit is a perfect way to show off curves!

Lindsay wanted a “fancy” wedding and that is exactly what she got. Jason, the groom, was an incredibly supportive and loving partner before the marriage was defined. The couple was wonderful to work with and gave us the opportunity to create magic. Her father wanted Lindsay to have the wedding of her dreams. The invitations were simply stunning with a bit of bling on each piece of paper the guests received prior to the wedding and on the day of. Her choice of dark purple shades with accents of silver gave us the elements we needed to create a sparkly, glittery wedding at the Ritz Carlton of Philadelphia.

The on-site ceremony was gorgeously draped in a shimmery silver satin. When lit, created an atmosphere that was divine. The Lucite chuppah, white/silver damask runner and candlelight along the aisle made the ceremony just perfect.

After the guests moved upstairs to cocktails, we were given the task to turn the room into something completely different and we did just that! The lighting became a different hue, the tables that were clothed in a deep purple taffeta and silver were moved into place. The white dance floor was revealed and their name was in lights. Drum roll please!

Mike and Jana Kerr did an amazing job capturing the warmth and love this family has and got all our “uncommon” details at the same time!

What can we say about Char + Joe’s wedding day? It was perfect from start to finish, with a dream team (Uncommon Events, Maggpie Vintage Rentals, Stephen Starr + Lovesick Inc), sunny skies and the most emotional, fun, downright awesome wedding guests. We are so thankful to have been a part of this beautiful celebration, and hope our photos can do justice to the beauty we documented that day.

Some of my favorite images from one of my favorite weddings!!

We were fortunate to be asked to assist in the design of a wedding held in Indianapolis. We packed the car and had the flowers shipped direct from our California purveyor. Indianapolis was such a treat. I had no concept of what to expect from the Midwestern town. I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, the folks are as kind and helpful as possible. ALL of them. The location, D’Amore, was atop a hi rise building with beautiful views.. The design was a bit of hip and cool with romantic flair.

This was a sweet albeit large wedding at Horticulture Center. The ceremony was draped off in  the main room as the chilly weather warranted indoors. The soft colors and tons of candle light made this a favorite wedding of ours.

From melissatuckblog.com:

This wedding was EPIC, y’all. I flew up to Baltimore, Maryland in mid-April on a picture-perfect weekend to capture these two lovebirds tie the knot:

I first met Bernadette while studying abroad in Sydney, Australia during college. From our first conversation miles away from both of our homes, we pretty much clicked and spent a lot of time together. I couldn’t have been MORE thrilled when she asked me to shoot her wedding (I think I did a happy jig/dance while talking to her on the phone — not exaggerating!). : )

I’m so happy she met Casey in Baltimore; they couldn’t be more perfect for each other. My favorite part of their wedding day was simply witnessing how they looked at each other. It melted my heart from behind the camera, that’s for sure. They got married at Old St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, and the GORGEOUS reception was held at the Four Seasonsin Harbor East. I think Baltimore is my new favorite city… at least, the harbor views left me breathless. ; )

Coming away from this wedding, the beauty of it and feelings from it leave me without words. It really was a perfect day. Everyone had a smile on their face the ENTIRE time! Let me get to the photos because I had SO many favorites. Bernadette & Casey, y’all know I love you guys and wish you a lifetime of happiness and FUN!

*Special thanks to Alison of Freckle Photography for helping me shoot and Melissa and Amanda of Uncommon Events for making the day go flawlessly!

A September wedding with fabulous details and great style! The succulents and chevron pattern added the perfect touch to the muted tones of the flowers. It was simply perfect.
